I have a virgin mobile phone & i just got internet on it so i can check my stuff when im out of town. I tried to go on twitter to see how it works before i left and its telling me i need to download some javascript thing for it to work. What is that & how do i get it? Please help! Id appreciate it!

Whilst I was talking to a good friend the other day, we got onto the subject of his children and how and what they were doing. He started to tell me about his boy's success in soccer and his daughters love for netball. Then he started to tell me about the soccer team that he coaches. And the fact that he had five good players and seven or eight that were not as good. He then proceeded to tell me how he was going to combine two teams next year and have one good team and one, well lets say, not so talented team.

Now this is all very well and good if we are trying to win a World Championship or the National Team Championship but the problem was these kids are eight years old. Now, I don't care at which level or in which area your team is operating. There is one common theme throughout all teams, and that is everyone has a role to play. Now in teams that are operating at a competent level the winning is in the picking. Select the right people and your opportunities for success are greatly enhanced. But even then, just because you have picked the best of the best doesn't mean the team will be successful.

 There are numerous issues and skills necessary to develop a team of champions into a champion team. There is the individual wants and needs of all team members, there is the issue of individual personalities and egos, there are differences in the abilities to learn and understand, there will be individual reluctance to become involved in certain areas and with certain issues.

You've heard the saying that "people are a company's greatest asset," right? It's true; your company is only as good as the people running it – at all levels. From the person who answers the phone to the one who signs the paycheck and everyone in between, people ARE your company.

While you likely have a decent team of employees right now, it's important to make sure that your company employs the right people for the job and for your company's long term success. After all, it's your sales people who sell your product; it's your CSRs who provide the voice of the company – and often the first impression; it's your technicians who perform the work. When these people shine, your company shines!

On the other hand, if your people struggle to perform, the company struggles too. Customers go elsewhere when they are not treated respectfully or feel as if the person is not knowledgeable. Customers don't return when the work is shoddy. Taken to the extreme, if your employees engage in unethical or criminal activities while doing their jobs, the company is dragged down. Clearly, picking the right employees is vital to your company's success.

Who are the right people? This answer varies from one company to the next, though many of the same traits (such as honesty, integrity, skill, and loyalty) cross all industries. The first step is to sit down and look at your company's long term goals. Is growth important? Or do you want to specialize in a small niche? What about quality? Do you need to streamline operations?
